My name is Piret Ilves. I was – or am – a fashion designer.
I studied fashion design, founded my own womenswear brand in 2009, and was awarded the Golden Needle (Kuldnõel) in 2014.
Today, I mostly no longer create garments – because there are simply too many clothes in the world.
I am an advocate for conscious clothing consumption.
I am the author of the master’s thesis Clothing as a Hyperobject and its Manifestation in Estonian TV Shows Ringvaade and Terevisioon.
If I were to create a garment again, I would still be guided by minimalism, timeless design, natural fabrics, and impeccable tailoring.
Piret Ilves is the member of Estonian Fashion Council and Estonian Fashion Brand Association.
Piret Ilves is Fur Free Retailer.
