She is particularly interested in why something so physically intimate to the human body often remains intellectually overlooked.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1804\" data-end=\"2019\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">Piret holds a Master\u2019s degree with a thesis titled <a href=\"https:\/\/www.etera.ee\/zoom\/207160\/view?page=1&amp;p=separate&amp;tool=info\"><em data-start=\"1855\" data-end=\"1951\">Clothing as a Hyperobject and its Manifestation in Estonian TV Shows Ringvaade and Terevisioon<\/em><\/a>, examining how garments operate within mediated everyday reality.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2026\" data-end=\"2368\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">Alongside her research, she writes cultural criticism and film essays. Her work has appeared in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.muurileht.ee\/post_author\/piret-ilves\/\"><em data-start=\"2122\" data-end=\"2133\">M\u00fc\u00fcrileht<\/em><\/a>, and she contributes internationally as a film columnist at <a href=\"https:\/\/dmovies.org\/profile\/piret-ilves\/\"><em data-start=\"2194\" data-end=\"2203\">DMovies<\/em><\/a>, where she explores not only what clothes do in films, but also what they make visible \u2014 from structures of class and identity to labour, power, and social roles.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2375\" data-end=\"2682\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">Having grown up in Estonia during the rapid transition from material scarcity to Western-style abundance, she brings a historically grounded perspective to questions of consumption and its limits.
